Будь-яка, навіть сертифікована траса, ніколи на 100% не співпадатиме із дистанцією, на яку ви зареєструвалися. Йдеться про шосейні забіги. Вимірювання і сертифікація траси досить складний процес. Якщо зовсім коротко, то запрошується сертифікований фахівець, який згідно з правил Міжнародної асоціації легкоатлетичних федерацій (IAAF) і Асоціації міжнародних марафонів та пробігів (AIMS), за затвердженою методикою проводить вимірювання по найкоротшій траєкторії.

До кожного виміряного кілометру, відповідно до зазначених вище Правил, фахівець додає 1 метр. Тому, якщо ви бігтимете буквально біля тротуарного бордюру і максимально вдало зрізатимете повороти, ви пробіжете заявлену дистанцію і плюс кілька десятків метрів. Кількість зайвих метрів вже залежить від вашої дистанції на забігу. Але діє це у випадку, якщо траса сертифікована. Бо, якщо ж ні, то на вас можуть чекати два варіанти сюрпризу. 1 –коли заявлена організаторами дистанція насправді виявляється коротшою і це приємний сюрприз. 2 – коли дистанція навпаки довша, що вже менш приємно.

Нижче наведено кілька порад як подолати бігову дистанцію і не набігати при цьому зайві метри. І чи варто завжди тільки цим керуватися.

  1. З вище написаного зрозуміло, що бігти необхідно по максимально короткій траєкторії. Якщо дорога зигзагоподібна з поворотами ліворуч і праворуч, то після проходження повороту необхідно перетнути навскіс дорогу, щоб наступний поворот знову пробігти по внутрішньому радіусу. (схема на фото)
  2. Найкоротший шлях буде біля краю дороги. Але там бігти не завжди зручно. Дуже часто на дистанції нам зустрічаються нахили для стоку води, стічні решітки і нам доводиться приземляємося на поверхню під кутом. Проте це не найгірше. Край дороги найбільш забруднений – з піском, пилом і, часом, брудом. Зчеплення з поверхнею різко погіршується, що негативно може вплинути на ефективність бігу. До того ж ви витрачаєте більше сил на пересування. А ще перевантажується задня поверхня стегна. Тому намагайтеся триматися трохи подалі від бровки і тільки на поворотах і віражах підбігайте до неї ближче. Буває таке, що організатори перед забігом миють дороги поливальними машинами. Скажіть їм за це дякую. Або дорога сама по собі є чистою. У таких випадках цей пункт варто ігнорувати.
  3. Якщо ви біжите в гору і перед вами поворот у формі U (шпилька), то максимальний градієнт буде з внутрішньої частини, тобто там, де найкоротший шлях. Бігти по внутрішньому радіусу, це означає впертися у вищий градієнт. Ви сповільнитеся і зіб’єтеся з ритму. Звичайно, все залежить від ширини дороги і градієнта підйому. Виберіть для себе оптимальну траєкторію, щоб і з ритму не збитися, і багато зайвого не пробігти. Зазвичай, це десь посередині дороги.
  4. Якщо ви біжите в спеку і частина вашої дороги в тіні, а з іншої – пече сонце, розгляньте варіант бігу саме в тіні, навіть якщо дистанція виходитиме трохи довшою. Погодьтеся, краще пробігти зайвих пару десятків метрів в тіні, але втримати темп і зберегти сили на дистанції. Щоб зрізати поворот можна на деякий час вибігти і на сонце.
  5. Якщо дорога не перекрита повністю, а тільки частково і назустріч вам їде потік машин, намагайтеся триматися від нього подалі. Навіть ціною накрутки кількох зайвих метрів. Потік машин створить вам зустрічний вітер і забере чимало зайвих сил.
  6. Найбільше ми набігаємо на перших кілометрах дистанції через трафік. На свідомість повільних бігунів, які стали на старті попереду, сподіватися не доводиться. Тому, тут вже біжимо ближче до бровки. Особливо перший кілометр. У разі чого, завжди можна вискочити на тротуар та обійти тихохода, хоча це і трошки проти правил. Упевнений, що вас навряд чи за це дискваліфікують.
  7. Якщо проти вітру ви знайшли широку спину, яка пересувається в прийнятному для вас темпі, але не по оптимальній траєкторії, то, безумовно, можна постукати пальцем по спині і з обуреним виглядом сказати: «Мужик, ти шо, ультрамарафонець?». В реальності, якщо він не критично набігає, то бережіть сили. Після фінішу, подякувавши своїй «спині», можна похвалитися кращим середнім темпом на вашому годиннику.

Всі вищенаведені поради далеко не панацея. Ви повинні самостійно приймати рішення вже на місці в залежності від ситуації – де максимально менше пробігти, а де зробити невеликий гак, але заощадити при цьому темп і сили. Звичайно, ближче до кінця забігу шори максимально закриті, думалка вже не працює і, в кращому випадку, ми дивимося в одну точку. Але якщо ви зможете довести прийняття таких рішень до автоматизму, то ноги самі вас понесуть по оптимальній траєкторії.
